This past Thursday, prior to the Broncos' thrilling victory over Hostos, the BCC Department of Athletics took a few moments to honor sophomores Sebastien Brito, Jacob Ortiz, Alexander Hattel, and Alexander Graham in a show of appreciation for their dedication to the institution's men's basketball program. Each sophomore was presented with an action-shot picture frame. The student-athletes then gathered with their coaches and teammates for a ceremonious photo prior to tip-off.

*All stats in the information below were current prior to game on Thursday, January 29*

Brito's contributions to the program:

Brito is a dedicated student-athlete who has appeared in 16 of the team's 21 contests this season, and has earned a reputation as a dedicated young man who is already ready to contribute whenever the coaches need him.

Classified by Head Coach Warren Thompson as a "dedicated and talented student-athlete with plenty of untapped potential", this student-athlete's game will continue to sharpen, even beyond his time at Bronx Community College. His personality, worth ethic, and love for the sport, are all attributes of his that will be remembered

Ortiz's contributions to the program:

Ortiz has been locked into contributing to the Broncos during his one-year tenure with the squad. A dependable cog in Head Coach Warren Thompson's wheel, he is one of only four Broncos to appear in all 21 of the team's contests.

During this 2025-2026 campaign, he ranks third in three-point baskets made, and is tied for fourth on the team in blocked shots. Head Coach Warren Thompson classifies this young man as a focused student-athlete despite balancing practices, work, and family obligations. His diligent approach and unmatched dedicates are attributes that certainly will be missed once this sophomore graduates.

Hattel's contributions to the program:

Hattel spent two years as a member of the BCC men's basketball program, and he is the only player to have appeared in all 42 of the team's games during that span. During the 2024-2025 campaign, he led the team in total assists and total steals, was second on the squad in total rebounding, and he placed fifth in points per game.

During the current campaign, this sophomore currently leads the team in total assists and steals, and finds himself ranking second in both points per game and rebounds per game.

Coach Warren Thompson said about this sophomore: "He is a student-athlete that does the absolute best that he can. Energy and effort have never been a question mark as it pertains to this young man. When he stays level-headed and plays his game, the numbers speak for themselves. We're going to miss his intensity and the uncanny love he has for the game."

Graham's contributions to the program:

Graham has spent two years as a member of the BCC men's basketball team, competing in 45 of a possible 48 games during those two seasons. During the 2023-2024 campaign, he was fifth on the team in assists, and sixth on the squad in steals. This season, he ranks third on the squad in total rebounding, and he is tied for fourth in field goals made. Additionally, he is second in total steals, and third in total assists.

Head Coach Warren Thompson says about this sophomore: "He has matured into a dependable leader of this team, reinforcing some of the messages I have preached to the team. He is a diligent worker with a lot on his plate, but he handles it all, showing that he is more than capable of taking on the demands of life after BCC. We will miss his competitive spirit and his leadership."
