ADA Locker Room & Accessible Chair Lift

In accordance with ADA rules, Bronx Community College swimming pool has an accessible chair lift located poolside in order to assist those with getting into the water. The chairs will remain fully functional year round. The lifeguard staff and aquatic staff are trained on using the chairs for ADA patrons. There is also an accessible locker room poolside and it is reserved only for ADA patrons.

Swimming Pool Locker Rooms

There are two large locker rooms located at the basement level of the alumni gym. Upon entering the pool from the locker room, a shower must be taken before getting into the water. Additionally, all bathers must be in appropriate swim attire, deck shoes, and a bathing cap is needed for those with hair. Lastly, no outside shoes should be worn on the pool deck. It is important the pool deck remain clean and without outside elements.

Safety Policy

The swimming pool lifeguards and Aquatics Director serve as the primary safety providers. For those utilizing the pool if you see something unsafe, say something to pool management and public safety. We aim to provide the highest level of safety in the pool area and will be constantly educating users on water safety. It is required that all bathers follow the pool rules located in three areas: lower level locker rooms, entrance to the pool from each locker room, and poolside on the deck. By abiding by the pool rules, the swimming pool at BCC becomes a safe and friendly environment to all bathers and visitors.
