Broncos produce just 49 points of offense in CUNY Community College defeat to Tigers at RFK Gymnasium

The Bronx Community College men's basketball team dropped a CUNY Community College Conference game last night, falling to the Tigers of Queensborough by a score of 95-49. The game took place at the RFK Gymnasium in Bayside, NY. With the defeat, the Broncos dipped to a mark of 0-23 on the 2025-2026 campaign (0-9 CUNY C.C.C.), while the Tigers improved to 15-5 on the year (8-2 CUNY C.C.C.).

Despite the defeat the Bronx, sophomore Timothaeus Graham connected on three triples, tying for the team-high of 11 points. He also tied for the game-high of three steals, while dishing two assists. Bryan Teixeira tied for the team-high of 11 points while leading all Broncos with four assists, and Alexander Hattel finalized his evening with 10 points and four rebounds, while tying for the game-high of three steals.

In the victory for Queensborough, Diego Cruz Lopez connected on five of his eight attempts from the floor, finishing with a game-high 15 points to go along with three assists. Jusuf Mrkulic netted 13 points while collecting five rebounds, and David Diaz Flores scored 12 points, snatched a pair of boards, and dished two assists. Jorge Maria Rosado's 11 rebounds tied for the game-high, and Cadell Inniss' seven assists led all players.

The hosts built a commanding 53-22 advantage after 20 minutes of action. Queensborough continued to add on to its lead with some stellar offensive play in the second half, outscoring Bronx 42-27 to account for the 46-point margin of victory (95-49).

Queensborough was far more efficient shooting the basketball on the evening, as the Tigers converted on 44.4 percent of their shot attempts (36-81), while earning a conversion rate of 92.9 percent from the free throw line (13-14). Bronx drained just 17 of 55 shot attempts (30.9 percent), while also nailing nine out of 14 shots from the stripe (64.3 percent).

The Tigers dominated on the glass, snatching 49 rebounds compared to 35 for the Broncos. Queensborough also held advantages in assists (26-9), steals (12-8), and blocked shots (3-2). The hosts also won the turnover battle, committing just eight miscues on the evening, while Bronx finished with 20.

The Broncos will wrap-up their 2025-2026 campaign on Thursday evening, as Bronx will travel to the BMCC Gymnasium to clash with the Panthers in another CUNY Community College contest. Start-time is scheduled for 7:00pm.
