Bronx defeats Queensborough, falls to Kingsborough and FIT in recent women's volleyball action

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 The Broncos' women's volleyball team posted a 1-2 record in recent matches. This past Saturday at Kingsborough, Bronx split a pair of CUNY matches, defeating Queensborough by a score of 3-1 before falling to the Wave in straight sets, 3-0. Then, this past Tuesday at the Alumni Gymnasium, the Broncos were defeated in three sets by the Tigers of FIT.

Bronx put together a fine team effort in defeating the Tigers, downing Queensborough in four sets to give the Broncos the victory, and give new head coach Khaila Stevenson her first win. The Broncos were then defeated by Kingsborough in straight sets.

Last night against FIT, the Broncos fell in straight sets. In the match, Pamela Sierra registered six kills and a pair of digs on the evening, while Alexandra Cuello chipped in with two kills, three digs, and a pair of service aces. Setter Yamelis Santana added eight assists, and Yatziri Arroyo-Sanchez finalized her evening with six digs.

Bronx will return to action on Saturday afternoon, as the team will travel to Middletown, NY to compete in a tri-match. The Broncos will take on SUNY Orange at 12:00pm, followed by a clash with Dutchess at 1:30pm.
