September 24, 2015 - Bronx, NY

 

In the first home game of the 2015 season, the Bronx CC Women's Volleyball team played the current CUNYAC 2014 Championship game runner-up finalist - Queensborough CC Tigers.

The Broncos team started the first set with energy and implementing the game strategy with good team play.  However, this momentum was stopped by the excellent play of the Tigers who won the match 3 - 0.  The scores for each set were: 14 – 25, 11 – 25 and 8 – 25.  The Tigers offensive attacks were effective and resulted in points.  

On defense, the Broncos team had to make tough plays with mixed results.  The Tigers had 31 kills for the match scoring more points than being stopped by the Broncos defensive team.

Sophomore Yeidy Montes de Oca had 10 digs in the match.  She demonstrated a positive attitude by working hard on defense.  She was consistent in each set. 

As the season progresses, the Bronx CC team offense and defense game plans are improving.

Next for the Broncos is a trip to Stone Ridge, NY to play an away game against Ulster County CC and a second game in a neutral court against Dutchess CC on Saturday, September 26, 2015 starting at 12:00 PM
