In a CUNY Athletic Conference and NJCAA Division III Region15 match, the Bronx Community College Broncos defeated the Borough of Manhattan Community College  Panthers by the score 3 - 2.  This was the Broncos first win of the Fall 2015 season.

The Broncos started the game slowly and lost the initial set 25-17.  In the secod and third sets, the team played well to secure wins by scores of 26-24 and 25-21 respectively.   The Panthers tied the score in the fourth set with a win 25-15.

In the final set, the Broncos had 5 kills and only 2 errores to win by score of 15-7.

The team effort was highlighted by the strong play of Hualeska Garcia and Ashley Suarez.  Each had 7 kills for the match.  In setting-up plays, Ashley Suarez had 14 assists and Yeidy Montes de Oca had 12 assists.  Stephanie Hernandez had 7 digs  and Hauleska Garcia had 6 digs.  The timely plays made by Elianna Segura, Arlenee Mejia, Renee-Mary Dussuau and Jackeline Elwin on defense help the team in handling the Panthers offense.

The next match for the Bronx CC Women' Volleyball team will be at the USMA Army Prep in West Point, NY at 7:00 PM on September 17, 2015.
