Box Score 11/17/14 - Bronx, NY
BCC's Men's Basketball pulled off another thrilling victory on Saturday, by staving off a late run by Kingsborough CC to take the game 94-88 in double overtime.  The win marked the second time in 3 games that the Broncos pulled through after regulation.

The first half started off well for BCC as they were staked to an early 28-16 lead with 9 minutes to go before halftime.  A layup off of high glass by David Campilongo with 3:04 left gave Bronx its largest lead of the day at 43-21.  At the break, the Broncos seemed to be well in control leading the Wave, 46-28.

Things quickly changed though after the intermission as KCC went on a 19-4 scoring run to start the second half.  The run brought Kingsborough to within 3 at 50-47 but a 3-point goal by Esvvi Tavares and a put-back on the subsequent possession led to 7 straight points that seemed to give the Broncos some breathing room.  The Wave wouldn't go away though answering with a 12-2 run that was capped off by a momentum changing 3-pointer that gave the Wave their first lead since the opening bucket, with 6 minutes left to play.
The score went back and forth from there with neither team able to extend a lead.  With less than a minute left the score was tied at 71 and each team had a possession to set up a chance to pull ahead.  But both teams wouldn't convert and with 17.1 seconds left before the buzzer, Bronx had the ball with a chance to win.  A last second drive by Yohan Almonte was blocked which sent the game to overtime.

In the first overtime period Bronx was able to pull away by as many as 5 points, but late in the extra frame, Kingsborough converted on a 3 point goal, and hit consecutive foul shots to pull knot the score at 79.  Once again, the Broncos found themselves tied but with possession of the ball with just 12.9 seconds to go.  This time, Anthony Johnson was able to get a quality shot off but it rattled out and a put-back by Almonte went in well after the buzzer sounded.

The second overtime mirrored the first with neither team being able to pull away.  But with 1:15 to go, Karon Williams added to the Bronco lead with a clutch 3-point goal that seemed to give Bronx control late.  But the gritty Wave team answered right back with a layup to keep the game within reach.  With 31 seconds left on the clock, the Broncos had the ball with only 22 seconds on the shot clock.  As Bronx ran the clock down, the Wave defense didn't allow a good look at the basket, but the last pass put the ball in the hands of Karius Morris, who buried a 3 just as the shot clock buzzer went off to seal the win.

Jatton Pierce-Bias led the Broncos in scoring with 25 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists.  Yohan Almonte had a great all-around game with 23 points, 11 steals and 8 assists.  Milton McFarquhar added a double-double as he was once again a force on the boards with 10 rebounds to go with 12 points.

With the win, the Broncos bring their record to 4-0 on the season.  The team returns to action on Wednesday, November 17th as they travel to Bronx, NY to take on Mt. St. Vincent JV in a non-region matchup.
