Bronx Community College held a celebration of its student-athletes on campus yesterday, honoring and saluting the department's 2024-2025 CUNY Community College and NJCAA Region XV Award Winners. Following the festivities, Director of Athletics Dionne Dodson praised the student-athletes for the dedication and sacrifice they exhibited throughout the athletic year.
 
"Today, we had the ability to reflect on what was a very exciting year for our department of athletics," Dodson said. "Our baseball team captured its first CUNY Community College championship title since 2019, qualifying for the NJCAA Region XV Tournament in the process. The women's basketball team had a six-victory improvement, qualifying for the CUNY Community College championship tournament and making the NJCAA Region XV Tournament for the first time in 10 years. A slew of our student-athletes earned CUNY Community College and/or NJCAA Region XV awards. Overall, we generated a ton of excitement for the future of athletics at BCC. Taking a moment to honor our student-athletes for their hard work, commitment and dedication is the best ending to the 2024-2025 season.
 
Interim President Dr. Milton Santiago and Interim Vice President of Student Success, Dr. Manny Lopez expressed their appreciation and congratulations to the student-athletes for their dedication and recognitions.
