Bronx's men's soccer team posts 0-4-1 record in recent matches

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 4 The Bronx Community College men's soccer team has struggled in recent contests, putting together a mark of 0-4-1 in five road contests. Following a 2-2 tie against the Colts of SUNY Orange back on September 18, the Broncos have dropped matches to CUNY foe LaGuardia 8-0 (9/21), as well as Suffolk (8-0 on 9/23), Nassau (10-0 on 9/30), and Dutchess (3-2 on 10/2). With that output, Bronx is now 1-7-1 on the 2025 campaign.

September 18, 2025: Broncos 2, Colts 2

In the 2-2 knot against SUNY Orange, the Colts took the lead in the 14th minute courtesy of a goal by Daniel Galeas (assisted by Hansel Ruiz-Garcia at 13:23). The Broncos netted the equalizer just 84 seconds before halftime, as Hanif Soule slashed a ball home to make it 1-1.

Veteran Abdul Mohammed gave Bronx a 2-1 advantage at 66:24, but Galeas would find paydirt for SUNY Orange again at 76:02 to tie the score. That aforementioned tally would be the final one of the contest by either squad.

Broncos goalkeeper Anthony Balbuena made seven stops in net in addition to allowing the two goals. His counterpart, Dominic Vega, registered five saves while allowing a pair of tallies.

The Colts held a slim 17-16 edge in shots for the contest.

September 21, 2025: Redhawks 8, Broncos 0

The Broncos suffered an 8-0 setback to the LaGuardia Redhawks back on September 21. For LaGuardia, seven different players scored in the match, including Modou Lamin Jaiteh (two goals), Edwin Sherpa, Luiz Cardoso, Ramnaresh Taylor, Alpha Koroma, Brayan Ospina, and Christian Lopez.

In addition to multiple different players scoring for the Redhawks, a total of 10 players recorded assists, including Sherpa who notched a team-high four on the morning.

LaGuardia led 4-0 at the half, and added another four goals in the second session to run away with the match.

The Redhawks held a 26-12 edge in shots, and a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Bronx goalkeeper Lam Serigne made 14 stops in addition to allowing the eight goals. His counterpart, Abdoul Ouedraogo, made 11 saves and earned a shutout.

September 23, 2025: Sharks 8, Broncos 0

In the Broncos' 8-0 loss to the Sharks, five different Suffolk players scored goals, including Nicholas Rojas, Pierce Caradona, and Justin Gorleku, who each netted two tallies apiece.

Gonzalo Garcia registered a match-high two assists for the victors.

Suffolk led 6-0 at the half, and added another two goals in the second session to put an exclamation point on the victory.

September 30, 2025: Lions 10, Broncos 0

The Lions overwhelmed Bronx early with eight goals before halftime. Jeremy Ramos opened the scoring in the 10th minute off an assist from Alexis Gomez. Later, Gomez converted a penalty kick in the 24th to increase the Lions' advantage to 2-0. Moments later, Juan Sanchez De Los buried a chance in the 27th minute, followed by Kevin Courtois slashing home a setup from Cristhian Ramos Mons in the 29th.

Brandy Balde pounced on a loose ball for Nassau's fifth goal. Ramos added his second in the 33rd minute, and Christian Cabrera made it 7-0 in the 38th after a pass from Ramos. Makhai Noel capped the half with a tally in the 41st minute to put Nassau ahead 8-0.

Nassau added two more goals after the break to complete the blowout. Mauricio Mejia netted a goal in the 51st minute off a beautiful pass from Ajani Campbell, then Campbell tallied one of his own in the 57th minute assisted by Mejia. The Lions closed out the match controlling possession and out-shooting Bronx 26-3.

Bryan Hernandez got the victory for the hosts, logging 45 shutout minutes and making two saves. Brandy Balde played the final 25 minutes, not facing a shot. Balbuena took the loss in net for Bronx.

October 2, 2025: Falcons 3, Broncos 2

In the Broncos' 3-2 loss to the Falcons in Poughkeepsie, Yusif Razakou got the scoring underway for Bronx, rifling home a pass from Abdul Mohammed to make it 1-0 in the 35th minute. Dutchess responded with a pair of goals before halftime (Charles Jensen in the 40th minute, Justin Dorner in the 44th), as the Falcons took a 2-1 advantage into the break.

Razakou (from Soule) scored again for Bronx in the 78th minute to tie the score. 10 minutes later, however, Dorner would net the match-winning goal (88th minute, from Diego Del Pino), as Dutchess held on for a 3-2 victory.

The Falcons held a slim 23-19 edge in shots for the afternoon.

Broncos netminder Anthony Balbuena made 14 saves despite allowing the three goals. His counterpart, Gavin Secor, made 17 stops while yielding two scores.

Bronx will return to action on Tuesday, October 7, as the Broncos will travel to Bayside, NY to take on Queensborough in a CUNY match. Start-time for the clash is scheduled for 3:30pm.
