This past Tuesday afternoon at the Ohio Field, the Bronx Community College men's soccer team played its home and season finale, hosting the Vikings of Westchester. Prior to the match, the institution's Department of Athletics and men's soccer program honored four sophomores, including Amir Awal, Ibrahim Minuru, Maxwell Asomani Asare, and Abdul Mohammed, in a special pre-match ceremony.

Coach Sawaneh on Awal's contributions to the program:

"Amir played in 14 matches for the Broncos over a two-year span, establishing himself as a "rock" in the team's defensive alignment. He is dependable and always ready to step up for his teammates. His consistency and calmness made a huge difference for the Broncos during the 2025 campaign. He was a player that the team could always depend on when the stakes were the highest."

Coach Sawaneh on Muniru's contributions to the program:

"Ibrahim competed in 18 matches over a two-year span with our program, establishing himself as one of the most responsible and reliable players I have coached. His commitment to the team and the standard he holds himself to have been outstanding. He has earned the respect of everyone through his professionalism and steady presence."

Coach Sawaneh on Asare's contributions to the program:

Maxwell has also been a two-year member of the Broncos' men's soccer program. This season, even while battling through an injury, everyone felt how much he loved his team. His support, positivity, and involvement — despite not being able to play much — exemplified his character and leadership. That aforementioned loyalty and selflessness says everything about who this young man is."

Coach Sawaneh on Mohammed's contributions to the program:

"Abdul played in 15 matches for the Broncos over a two year stretch, and he currently serves as our point and goals leader during this 2025 season. He has been a true captain in every sense, leading by example both on and off the field, and setting the tone for the rest of his teammates. His leadership, discipline, and consistency will leave a lasting mark on the BCC men's soccer program."
