Box Score The Bronx Community College men's soccer team picked up its first victory of the 2026 campaign on Saturday, earning a hard-fought 5-3 triumph over Rockland Community College at Ohio Field. With the victory, the Broncos improve to 1-2-1 on the season, while the Rockland Hawks fall to 0-2.

Rockland struck first in the seventh minute when Ronaldo Richard found the back of the net off an assist from Thomas Hall. Bronx answered in the 18th minute, as David Santa converted a penalty kick to even the contest at 1-1.

The Broncos came out firing after halftime and quickly took control. Just 36 seconds into the second half, Fnu E. Ndemalalue put Bronx ahead, scoring off an assist from Leiver Palacio.

Bronx continued to build its advantage, with Bouyagui Konate heading home a Matthew Ortiz cross in the 58th minute. Less than two minutes later, Palacio added another goal, heading home a pass from Santa to give Bronx a 4-1 lead.

Rockland refused to go quietly despite facing a convincing deficit. Youmindjy Chrysostome converted a penalty kick in the 63rd minute before Edwin Baah scored in the 81st minute to pull Rockland within one at 4-3.

Palacio quickly answered for the Broncos, rocketing a ball into the top-right corner of the net just 18 seconds after Rockland's third goal, as Bronx restored its two-goal cushion at 5-3.

For the game, Palacio finished with two goals and an assist, while Santa contributed a goal and an assist. Ndemalalue and Konate each added a tally, and goalkeeper Ramon Caldera turned in a strong performance, recording 10 saves in the victory.

Rockland held a 35-19 advantage in shots, but Caldera's 10 saves helped the Broncos withstand the Hawks' offensive pressure and secure their first win of the season.

The Broncos return to action Tuesday, Sept. 15, when they travel to Flowers Park in New Rochelle, N.Y., to take on Monroe University-Bronx. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
