Men's basketball team drops season finale to Rockland Community College, 70-59; Herve Awono and Pape Diop honored before the game

The Bronx Community College men's basketball team finalized its 2017-2018 season on Thursday evening, dropping a non-conference game to Rockland Community College by a score of 70-59. The contest took place at the Alumni Gymnasium in the Bronx, NY. With the defeat, the Broncos finished the season with a record of 6-21.
 
Prior to the game, Director of Athletics Ryan McCarthy and the entire Bronx Community College Department of Athletics honored two-year players Herve Awono and Pape Diop. Both student-athletes were presented with commemorative plaques honoring their two years of service for the men's basketball program.
 
Despite the loss for the Broncos, Awono – who earlier in the day was recognized as an All-Star at the 53rd annual CUNYAC Luncheon – led Bronx Community College with 15 points. Hector Montano Valenzuela added 13 points, as well.
 
Edward Hall led the way for the Hawks in their victory, as he knocked down five three-point baskets and scored a game-high 19 points. Additionally, it was Divine Cesar scoring 17 points.
