Women's Basketball Pushes Monroe College - Bronx in Loss

The Bronx Community College Broncos Women's basketball team loss to the Monroe College – Bronx Express team tonight by the score of 73-52 at Alumni Gymnasium.

The game was the home opener of the Broncos 2017 – 2018 season schedule.

The Bronx CC team started the game playing well.  The player's showed energy and had a game tempo that matched well the playing style of the Express team.  

At the end of the 2nd quarter, the score was 27-21 in favor of the Express.

The Broncos played well in the 3rd quarter but faded in the last quarter by scoring 11 points.

With a field goal percentage (40.4%), free throw percentage (37.3%), 43 rebounds and team play, the Bronx CC team stayed competitive in the game.  The team is improving with increase game action experience.  

A high number of turnovers (33) hurt the offensive strategy leading to easy baskets for the Express.

Playing well for the Broncos were Siara Torres (28 points, 4 steals) Telleann Mckenzie (12 points), Eriadna Rachell Vasquez Bautista (14 rebounds, 5 points) and Asia Nelson (12 rebounds, 4 points).

The next game for the Bronx CC team will be in Brooklyn on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 1:00 PM against Kingsborough Community College.  This game is a CUNY Athletic Conference game.
