Women's basketball standout Destiny Davis earns NJCAA Region XV Player of the Month accolade for March 2026

On Monday morning, April 6, NJCAA Region XV announced its student-athletes of the month, and Bronx Community College was represented by freshman sensation Destiny Davis, as she was tabbed the Player of the Month for March thanks to her strong performances during the postseason.

During four contests in the month of March, Davis averaged 16 points, seven assists, and 3.5 rebounds per game, connecting 42.3 percent of her shots during that aforementioned span. Her sensational play helped the Broncos earn a berth in the NJCAA Championship Tournament, where the Broncos registered their first tournament win ever, defeating Rowan College of South Jersey - Gloucester by a score of 70-68 in the consolation game.

Overall for the 2025-2026 campaign, Davis was a dominant player within NJCAA Region XV, ranking seventh in total points (329), seventh in points per game (13.7), fourth in total assists (111), and ninth in steals (77). Her consistency and sensational efforts led the Broncos to a historic season that saw Bronx win 19 games, including 11 straight at one juncture, and capture a CUNY title for the first time since the 2014-2015 campaign. Additionally, the Broncos qualified for both the NJCAA Region XV and NJCAA National tournaments.
