The LaGuardia Community College Red Hawks Men's basketball team - a team that received one vote in the current NJCAA Division III National basketball rankings - visited Alumni Gymnasium today to play the Bronx Community College Broncos in a CUNY Athletic Conference and NJCAA Region XV game.

The Red Hawks defeated the Broncos in overtime by the final score of 80 - 76.  

The loss is the 8th for the Bronx team this regular season.

Both teams played with intensity from the start.  LaGuardia CC had a 10 point lead that the Broncos slowly shaved down and finished the 1st half down by 4 points.  Both teams took many shots but the Bronx team did not make crucial deensive stops at critical times, especially stopping 3-pointers.

In the 2nd half, the Broncos matched LaGuardia and at the end of regulation time the score was tied at 67 points.

In overtime, the Bronx team play made several decisions that did not produce positive results.  The Red Hawks took advantage by taking a lead of 4 points until the end.

The season record for the Bronx CC team is now 13 - 8.  In the CUNY Athletic Conference, their record is 4 - 4.
