Box Score February 6, 2015 - Garden City, NY

The Bronx Community College Men's basketball team celebrated a road victory against the defending regional champions Nassau Community College on Thursday 80-75. This win snaps the Broncos' two-game losing streak and was impacted by four players scoring double digits.

Jatton Pierce-Bias came out strong in the first half, putting up 11 points and dishing out 7 assists. Esvvi Tavarez and Brian Berrios also reached double digits in scoring before the halftime whistle, totaling 10 and 11 points, respectively.

BCC dominated early and they were able to hold off the Lions through the second half with great rebounding and offensive efficiency by Karius Morris. Morris ended the game with a double-double in points (12) and rebounds (10). In what was an excellent scoring night for the whole team, Berrios stood out after shooting 62% including 3 of 4 from behind the arc.
In the final few minutes, the score shifted back and forth between the teams and with under 10 seconds remaining the score was believed to be tied. In the final seconds Tavarez was able to draw the foul on a three-point attempt and went on to hit all three clutch free throws to seal the deal.  After the game it was learned that there was a mistake in scoring, which changed the final margin.

With a win the Broncos boosted their overall record to 15-9 as they sit comfortably in 4th place in the CUNY Athletic Conference. BCC clinched a spot in the CUNYAC playoffs earlier this week after Queensborough fell to Hostos and they look to move up in the conference standings with a win at their next game. Come out to Alumni Gymnasium for Graduating Players Night next Tuesday at 8:00 PM to see your Broncos Men's Basketball team face off against Hostos in the Battle for the Bronx.
