Panthers Too Tough for Broncos

The Bronx Community College Men's Basketball suffered a tough road loss to BMCC Tuesday 87-78. The loss marks the second time the Broncos have fallen to the Panthers.

The first half was a back and forth affair, with both teams playing fast paced basketball. Midway through the half, BCC take a lead they would not lose for the final 7 minutes. The half ended with the Broncos holding a 44-40 lead over a team undefeated in CUNY play.

Bronx came out strong to start the second half, widening their lead to 8. BMCC would not go away as they scored 17 of the next 26 points, tying the game at 61. Soon after, the Panthers would take a 6 point lead, before the Broncos would tie the game again at 74 with 5 minutes remaining. BCC would be victim of a 13-4 by the Panthers to end the game and secure a win for BMCC. Brian Berrios and Esvvi Tavarez would lead Bronx scoring with 24 points in the losing effort.

With the loss, the Broncos fall to 14-9 overall and 4-5 in the conference. The men will take the court again Thursday as they travel to Garden City to play the Lions of Nassau Community College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7pm.
