Box Score 1/5/2015 – Bronx, NY
The BCC Women's Basketall team fell to the Lions of Nassau CC at home on Sunday by the score of 68-52. Bronx was down a few key players to start the game and the team was unable to overcome an early deficit by halftime.
The Lady Broncos got off to a slow start and were held to just 21 points in the first half. They trailed by 13 points at the break and came out of the locker room for the second looking for more offense. The team was able to score more efficiently shooting 42% from the floor as compared to 36% in the first. But the lead proved too much to comeback from and the defense did not have an answer for the Lion scoring efforts.
Trishia Toussaint had perhaps her best offensive effort as a Bronco, scoring 22 points to go with 8 rebounds and 4 steals. Angel Mbamalu chipped in with 8 points and 7 rebounds while Chloe Walton pulled down 9 boards of her own.
With the loss the team falls to 5-4 on the season. They return to action on Thursday, January 8th as they travel to Queensborough CC to take on the Tigers at 6pm.
