The Bronx Community College Women's Basketball team came up just short against the nationally ranked Sullivan County Community College, as they fell in overtime 69-75. This marks the second time the Lady Broncos have fallen to Sullivan this season.

The first half was highlighted by excellent defense, as Bronx was able to hold the Lady Generals to just 22 points while holding a 2 point lead at the break. BCC was able to come out hot in the second half, having a 19-2 run over the first seven minutes. Sullivan would not go away however, as they responded with an 11-2 run of their own. The Lady Generals would then pull within 3 with a minute to play, tying the game at 61 with 9 seconds remaining.

In overtime, Sullivan proved to have a bit more stamina, taking an early lead in overtime and holding on despite a late Bronx push.

Reigning CUNYAC Player of the Week Hivelize Escobar led BCC in scoring with 37 points. Trisha Toussaint also added 12 in the losing effort.

With the loss, the Lady Broncos fall to 8-8 overall. The BCC Women's team next plays on Saturday at the Alumni Gymnasium when they host Suffolk. Tipoff is at 1pm.
