Box Score 1/16/2015 – Brooklyn, NY
The BCC Lady Bronco Basketball team was victorious last night as they pulled out a win late vs. KCC. After trailing early, Bronx was able to convert late to beat the Wave for the second time this year.
The teams played each other tough for much of the game as the score went back and forth. The Lady Broncos were able to exchange baskets with Kingsborough, but turnovers gave the Wave extra chances, ones they would convert on. At the half, KCC led Bronx by 3, 31-28.
The second half was more of the same and the tide didn't turn against the Wave until Sophomore Frances Minaya hit two straight 3-point goals to take the lead. Minaya and crew hit key free throws down the stretch to pull away in the end.
Hivelize Escobar led all scorers with 24 points to go with 13 rebounds. Trisha Toussaint had a double-double as well with 10 points and 11 boards. Frances Minaya chipped in with 10 points and Angel Mbamalu had 10 rebounds.
With the win, the Lady Broncos move to 7-5 on the season and they return to action on Saturday, January 17th as they travel to Poughkeepsie, NY to take on Dutchess CC at 12pm.
