Men's Basketball Starts Road Trip With A Win

The Bronx Men's Basketball team kicked off 2015 with in a win as they topped Queensborough CC 86-70.  The game was the first of three straight road games for the Broncos to start the second half of the season.  

The rust was apparent in the first half as the BCC struggled to score consistently.  The team committed 16 turnovers in the period to add to the hardship.  But the Broncos stayed within striking distance throughout and trailed the Tigers 40-36 at the halftime buzzer. 

The second half was when the team came alive by making adjustments and cutting back on the turnovers.  The Broncos were able to spread the ball around as both starters and bench players got into the action.  Bronx took the lead and never looked back as they cruised late for the W. 

Karius Morris led all scorers with 21 points to go with 14 boards and 3 steals.  Jatton Pierce –Bias scored 19 while Yohan Almonte had 11.   Esvvi Tavarez and Karon Williams rounded out five Broncos who scored in double figures with 11 and 10, respectively.

With the win, the Broncos move to 10-5 on the season and they return to action on Tuesday, January 13th as they travel to Suffern, NY to take on the Hawks of Rockland CC at 7pm
