Box Score 11/13/14 – Patterson, NJ

Men's Basketball pulled out an exciting win when they traveled to Passaic CCC on Tuesday, beating the Panthers in Overtime, 89-86.

Bronx got off to a fast start thanks to the team shooting 52% from the floor.  The effort helped Bronx take a 6 point lead into halftime with the score 42-36.
Though the Broncos continued to play hard, Passaic would not go away.  Bronx led by as many as 11 in the second half, but tough defense and quality shooting got the Panthers back in the game.  Though there was no panic on the Bronx bench, gritty Passaic team came all the way back to tie the score at 76 to force overtime.

But in the extra period belonged to the Bronx as they clamped down on defense and hit their shots.  The scoring star for BCC was Freshman Brian Berrios, who scored 28 points and had 4 steals.  He led 3 other teammates who scored in double figures for the game.  Jatton Pierce-Bias had another strong night with 16 points, 10 rebounds, 6 steals and 5 assists.  Fellow freshman Yohan Almonte had 17 points and 4 assists of his own, while Milton McFarqhar contributed 11 points and 6 boards.

With the win, the Broncos move to 2-0 on the season.  They return to action at home on Thursday, November 13th for a non-regional matchup vs. Bergen CC.  Tip-off is at 8pm in the Alumni Gym.
