Box Score Bronx, NY – 12/9/13

The Bronco Men's Basketball team was unable to mount a comeback this past Saturday as they lost to Hostos, 80-67.  The loss was just the second this season for the Broncos, and first within CUNYAC play.

Taylor Foster led BCC once again with 21 points and 11 rebounds overall.  Kevin Vanderpool and Paris Purcelle added 11 points apiece while, Kevin Pimentel came off the bench to contribute 7.

The game started off well for the Broncos, as they scored on their first few possessions and jumped out to a quick 5 point lead.  The Caimans battled back and the scoring stayed relatively even for the next few minutes.  Bronx's scoring then dried up as they struggled to put points on the board.  They finished the first half with just 25 points, their lowest point total in any half this season, and the team found themselves down by 15 at the break.

The Broncos were able to make second half adjustments and improved their shooting from the field.  Though the scoring returned, the team was unable to overcome the large deficit.  Late in the second half, the Broncos pulled within 10 but that was as close as the team was able to get by the time the final buzzer sounded.

With the loss, Bronx falls to 10-2 (4-2 within Region XV).  They return to action on Tuesday, December 10th as they host Rockland CC at the Alumni Gymnasium at 7pm.
