On Thursday afternoon, April 20, Bronx Community College baseball player Luis Roman Sanchez was inducted into Alpha Beta Gamma, International Business Honor Society's BCC Chapter. The induction took place in the rotunda of Gould Memorial Library. 

Alpha Beta Gamma is the international business society recognizing scholarship among community college students. To be eligible for membership with the BCC chapter, students must be enrolled as a business major, have completed 15 credit hours (with at least 12 credit hours taken in courses leading to a business degree), and have attained a 3.0 GPA both in business courses and overall.

Following Sanchez's induction, BCC Student Athletics' Program Coordinator, Faith Rowe, praised the standout student-athlete.

"Here at BCC, we are extremely proud to see Luis become the fourth student-athlete to be inducted into Alpha Beta Gamma," Rowe said. "Luis works diligently academically, and athletically, and it's very gratifying to see his tremendous efforts pay off. We believe sky is the limit for him in all walks of life."

Among those in attendance at Thursday's event were BCC Business Professor Tom D'Arrigo, Kappa Gamma Chapter's advisor, and Steven Correa, a star student-athlete on the baseball team who currently serves as the chapter's president. D'Arrigo recognized the achievements of the inductees, while also providing ideas about reaching goals and experiencing a well-rounded educational opportunity at the institution.

Later, certificates and stoles were presented to the inductees by D'Arrigo and Correa, and all honorees were then sworn into the Alpha Beta Gamma International Honor Society as members. 

One year ago, Correa and former Broncos N'Famara Diawara (soccer) and Christopher Mills (men's basketball) earned induction into Alpha Beta Gamma, International Business Honor Society's BCC Chapter.
