The Broncos' women's volleyball team split a pair of contests this weekend, falling to Northern Essex in straight sets, 15-25, 10-25, and 7-25 on Friday evening in Haverhill, MA, before turning around to defeat Bunker Hill by scores of 19-25, 26-24, 25-22, and 25-20 the following day. With the 1-1 showing in Massachusetts, Bronx is now 2-5 on the 2018 campaign.
In Saturday's four-set win over the Bulldogs,
Angelica Aquino was basically unstoppable. She hit .526 for the match, recording 11 kills and committing just one attack error. She also added five service aces in the victory, as well.
Lisbeth Guerrero contributed six kills in the triumph, and
Heder Rodriguez finished her afternoon with 23 assists and three service aces.
Despite the Broncos' Friday evening loss to the Knights, Aquino and Rodriguez recorded two kills apiece.
Genesis Jimenez and
Lisbeth Guerrero added five digs and four digs, respectively.
Bronx will return home on Thursday evening, as the Broncos will take on Fashion Institute of Technology. Start-time for that contest is scheduled for 7:00pm.
