The Broncos' women's volleyball team split a pair of matches today, defeating Sullivan County Community College in five sets (25-17, 23-25, 20-25, 25-13, 15-8) before falling to Orange County Community College in straight sets (9-25, 19-25, 7-25). With today's output, the Broncos are now 4-13 on the 2018 campaign.
In Bronx' thrilling victory over the Generals,
Angelica Aquino paced the Broncos, recording 14 kills while hitting .267 for the match. She also accumulated 10 digs while also contributing eight service aces.
Lisbeth Guerrero added four kills, seven service aces, and a pair of digs, and veteran
Sthefany Jimenez added four kills, five digs, and two service aces. Setter
Heder Rodriguez also added 24 assists and seven digs for the match.
In the Broncos' three set loss to the Colts, Bronx was led by Aquino and Guerrero, as both recorded four kills apiece. Rodriguez also contributed eight assists in a losing effort for the Broncos.
Bronx will now have four days off before returning to action on Thursday evening, as the Broncos will face Passaic County Community College at the Alumni Gym. Start-time is scheduled for 7:00pm.
