The Broncos' women's volleyball team won for the third time in four tries, tonight defeating the Panthers of Passaic by scores of 25-17, 25-22, and 25-17 at the Alumni Gymnasium in the Bronx. With the victory, the Broncos improved to a mark of 5-13 on the 2018 season.
Bronx was paced by
Angelica Aquino, as she posted team-highs of 10 kills and 12 digs while also hitting .321 for the match
Lisbeth Guerrero added four kills, three digs, and a block assist while hitting .421 on the night, and setter
Heder Rodriguez contributed a match-high 20 assists, while tying for the match-high in service aces with six.
Bronx recorded 15 service aces on the evening as a team, while also hitting .211 and only committing six hitting errors.
The Panthers were led by Tazjahne Moore, as she posted a match-high 13 kills while adding nine digs. Ashley Chicchis put together a solid performance with nine kills and 16 digs, and Meralis Lara added team-highs of 17 assists and six service aces while recording seven digs.
The Broncos will return to action Saturday, as they'll take on Monroe College (Bronx) at 12:00pm, followed by a match against Dutchess at 1:15pm.
