Box Score 9/10/2014 – Bronx, NY

The Broncos started their season with a win as they defeated the Hostos Caimans 1-0 on Tuesday afternoon.  The game was the first of the year for both teams, who were looking to establish an early season edge in the standings.

After an exciting and defensive first half, the score was locked at 0-0.  Neither team could maintain possession long enough to sustain successful runs toward the opposing goal. Newcomer and goalkeeper Romeo Kelly performed at a high turning away 3 shots in the first half. In the second half, the defensive trend continued until the 72^nd minute, when Broncos' forward Erick Hungria dribbled through the defense in transition and scored from 30 feet out. Following the BCC goal, Hostos scrambled to score unsuccessfully while the Broncos kept the pressure on.  The Caimans came up short on several opportunities in the final minutes of regulation.  In the end, the Broncos would walk away with a 1-0 win.

With the opener in the books, the Broncos move to 1-0 on the season.  They return to action on Saturday, September 13^th as they take on Bunker Hill Community College in the Bulldog Invitational at Dean College.
