3/19/14- Bronx, NY

The Bronx Community College Baseball team fell to defeat at the hands of the Middlesex Community College Blue Colts yesterday by the score of 4-1.  The loss was the first this season vs a Division III team. 

The Broncos solid defense and top notch pitching was able to keep the game scoreless into the 8th inning. Bronx would give up 3 runs in the top of the 8th inning giving Middlesex a 3-0 lead heading into the bottom of the 8th inning. BCC would go onto drive in 1 run in the bottom of the 8th inning making the score 3-1. In the top of the 9th inning Middlesex tacked on an extra run to bring the lead back up to 3 heading into the bottom of the 9th inning. The Broncos came up to bat in the bottom of the 9th inning hoping to rally to win the game, but their efforts came up short as they fell to the Blue Colts 4-1.

BCC was led by sophomore standout pitcher Adolfy Javier who recorded 7 strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings scoreless innings pitched. Sophomores Claudio Deaza and Danny Rojas helped lead the charge for the Broncos offense recording 2 hits respectfully. Jonathan Suarez accounted for the Broncos lone run scored.

The Broncos will take on Union County Community College in a double header, this Saturday.  First pitch is set for 12pm in Cranford, NJ.
