Men's soccer breaks through for a barrage of goals, defeating Rockland 4-1 to earn first victory

The Broncos' men's soccer team broke through for its first victory this past Saturday afternoon, defeating the Hawks of Rockland Community College by a score of 4-1. The match took place in Suffern, NY. With the triumph, Bronx improved to a mark of 1-2 on the 2025 campaign.

Rockland scored the loan goal of the opening half, courtesy of Pharlens Millien, as the youngster collected a pass from Jeffrey Catalan Cord before blasting it home, making it 1-0 Hawks.

In the second half, Bronx's offense broke through for a barrage of goals. Newcomer Darel Reyes notched consecutive scores (both aided by Faniel Gereziher) to put the Broncos ahead by a score of 2-1. Veteran Amir Awal and Gereziher added unassisted tallies to round out the scoring for the visitors.

Broncos netminder Anthony Balbuena allowed just one goal while making six saves in the victory for his squad. His counterpart, Rockland's Marquan Campbell, yielded four goals while stopping five shots.

Bronx will look to make it consecutive victories tomorrow afternoon, as the Broncos will play host to the Express of Monroe University-Bronx. Start-time is scheduled for 4:00pm.
