Kolonnie Green posts second consecutive double-double in Broncos' 72-64 triumph over Colts

The Broncos' women's basketball team continued its early season success on Thursday evening, defeating the Colts of Middlesex by a score of 72-64. The game took place at the Alumni Gymnasium in the Bronx. With the victory, the Broncos improved to a mark of 4-2 on the 2025-2026 campaign, while the Colts dipped to 4-5, dropping their third in a row.

Pacing Bronx in its victory was veteran Angelina Gonzalez, as she connected on seven out of her eight free throw attempts to finish with a team-high 15 points. She also added four assists, as well. Destiny Davis registered a double-double, scoring 13 points while dishing 10 assists. She also snatched four rebounds and swiped a pair of steals, as well. Standout Kolonnie Green recorded her second double-double in a row, scoring 12 points while snatching 14 rebounds, adding three steals, and contributing three times. Akela Roberston finalized her evening with 11 points, and finally, Amber Alexander and Akira Robertson scored seven points apiece.

Despite the loss for the Colts, Gabriella Nieves scored a game-high 17 points, and Kendall Dixon finalized her evening with 16 points, hitting a pair of triples in the process.

Bronx held a 20-9 advantage after 10 minutes of action, and a commanding 37-20 lead at the break. Middlesex put together a modest push in the second session, outscoring the Broncos 25-23 in the third period, before netting 19 points to Bronx's 12 in the fourth. The Broncos, though, played efficiently down the stretch to hold off the Colts and secure their fourth victory in six contests.

For the game, the Broncos converted on 25 of their 49 attempts from the floor (51 percent). Bronx collected 27 rebounds, dished 25 assists, and swiped seven steals. The Broncos also committed 34 turnovers on the night.

Bronx will return to action on Tuesday evening, as the Broncos will travel to the Falcon Hall Gymnasium in Poughkeepsie, NY to battle Dutchess. Start-time for the road contest is scheduled for 6:00pm.
