Bronx overwhelmed by Vikings as Westchester wins big in Valhalla, NY

The Broncos' men's basketball team dropped a road game on Tuesday evening, falling to the Vikings of Westchester Community College by a score of 115-53. The contest took place at the Viking Gymnasium in Valhalla, NY. With the defeat, Bronx dipped to a mark of 1-13 on the 2024-2025 campaign, while Westchester improved to 10-8.

Despite the loss for Bronx, Alexander Hattel connected on seven of his 11 attempts from the floor, scoring 18 points while also snatching 10 rebounds. Abraham Richter just missed registering a double-double of his own, as he scored nine points while grabbing 13 rebounds and blocking three shots. Finally, it was Ousman Tunkara adding eight points on the evening.

The Broncos shot well from the floor, earning a conversion rate of 47.6 percent (20-42), but Bronx struggled mightily from the free throw line, misfiring on 15 freebees (10-25, 40 percent). The Broncos collected 38 rebounds, swiped nine steals, blocked six shots, and dished six assists.

Bronx will look to get back in the win column on Thursday evening, as the team travels to Brooklyn, NY to battle the Kingsborough Wave in a CUNY Community College Conference contest. Start-time is scheduled for 8:00pm.
