Unblemished Falcons put on offensive show, defeat Broncos in Region XV action

The Broncos' men's basketball team suffered a home defeat on Tuesday evening, falling to the Falcons of Dutchess Community College by a score of 110-55. The game took place at the Alumni Gymnasium in the Bronx. With the defeat, the Broncos dipped to a mark of 1-7 on the 2024-2025 campaign, while the Falcons improved their mark to an unblemished 10-0 on the year.

Despite the loss for Bronx, newcomer Abraham Shihadeh paced the home school with a double-double, scoring a team-best 13 points while also tying for the game-high of 10 boards. Alexander Romero finished with 11 points and five caroms, and Bobby Robbins finalized his evening with 10 points and 10 boards. Finally, it was Ousman Tunkara netting nine points on the night to go along with a team-best four assists.

Four players scored in double figures for Dutchess, including Jadyn Wilson (7-10 FG), as he finished with a game-high 17 points to go along with five boards and a pair of steals. Quincey Platt contributed 14 points, a game-high four blocked shots, two rebounds, and a pair of assists, and Prince Kamata and Alijah England finished with 12 points and six assists apiece. Kamate also added a team-best seven boards.

The Falcons put on a show in the opening half, outscoring the Broncos 58-21, before also putting up 52 points in the second session to Bronx's 34 to account for the 55-point margin of victory (110-55).

Dutchess converted on an incredible 62.8 percent of its attempts from the floor (49-78), while the Broncos hit on 21 of 48 attempts (43.8 percent). The Falcons held a slim 45-43 edge on the glass, while also dishing 34 assists compared to Bronx's seven. Dutchess turned the ball over just 12 times on the evening, while the Broncos finished with 20 miscues.

The Broncos will look to bounce back on Thursday, December 5, as Bronx will travel to Monsignor Scanlan Gymnasium to take on the Express of Monroe University-Bronx. Start-time is scheduled for 8:00pm.
