Broncos can't overcome Hawks' shooting efficiency (38-76, 50 percent) in loss at Rockland

The Broncos' men's basketball team suffered a road loss on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Hawks of Rockland Community College by a score of 94-52. The game took place in Suffern, NY. With the loss, Bronx dipped to 0-5 on the 2024-2025 campaign, while Rockland improved to 4-2.

Despite the loss for Bronx, newcomer Alexander Romero scored a team-high 13 points to go along with eight rebounds. Veterans Abraham Richter and James Wenzel netted nine points apiece, with Richter snatching a game-high 10 boards, and Wenzel pulling down five. Finally, it was Bobby Robbins contributed seven points and four caroms in the loss.

Pacing Rockland was standout Jalen Munson, as he connected on eight of his 12 attempts on the floor, finishing with a game-high 19 points. Tyler Lingham and Thierry Lokrou scored 13 points apiece, with Lingham tying for the team-high of seven rebounds and dishing a game-high five assists. Lokrou dished four assists and collected three boards. Jerell Taylor scored 11 points and collected six boards, and Steven Polanco and Tristan Bowen netted eight points apiece.

The Hawks were far more efficient shooting the basketball, connecting on 38 of their 76 attempts from the floor (50 percent), while the Broncos earned a 29.7 percent conversion rate (19-64). Both teams pulled down 37 rebounds apiece, and Rockland registered 19 assists, while Bronx had only five.

Bronx will look to bounce back on Tuesday evening, as the Broncos travel to the Brookhaven Gymnasium at the Ammerman Campus in Selden, NY to take on Suffolk County Community College. Start-time for that contest is scheduled for 6:00pm.
