Broncos endure tough weekend, drop four non-conference matches

In what was a tough weekend for the Broncos' women's volleyball team, Bronx dropped four non-conference matches, falling to Dutchess Community College (2-25, 8-25, 3-25), SUNY Orange (9-25, 7-25, 16-25), Rockland Community College (8-25, 18-25, 10-25), and Westchester (18-25, 10-25, 11-25). With the defeats, the Broncos are now 0-9 on the 2023 campaign.

Saturday's matches took place in Suffern, NY on the campus of Dutchess Community College. In Bronx's loss to the Falcons, the Broncos registered 16 digs, including a match-high seven by Oscar Ruth. Leslie Fraser contributed four digs, and Keity Liberata had the Broncos' lone kill.

Pacing the Falcons were Grace Ferretti and Nikole Langan, as they finished with six kills apiece. Nicole Spero posted match-highs of 18 assists and 12 serve aces, and Hailey Fehring-Cocks tied for the match-high of seven digs.

Bronx's second match Saturday was a clash with SUNY Orange. In that contest, the Broncos' Liany Parrot and Ferrer finished with two kills apiece. Parrot added seven digs, and Ferrer finished with five assists. Finally it was Liberata, Radcliff, and Ruth contributing five digs apiece.

Sunday's matches took place in Suffern, NY, on the campus of Rockland Community College. The Broncos took on the Hawks in their first match of the day, and despite the loss, Bronx was led by Radcliff, who notched three kills. Parrot finished with five digs, and Ferrer had three assists.

Parrot tallied two of the Broncos' three kills in Bronx's loss to Westchester. She also had five digs and two service aces. Abigail Cabrera finished with three service aces.

The Broncos will return to action Tuesday evening, as Bronx will take on Queensborough in a CUNYAC match at the Alumni Gymnasium. Start-time is scheduled for 6:00pm.
