Broncos overwhelmed by Lions, falling to 0-3 on 2023-2024 campaign

The Broncos men's basketball team dropped its third straight game to open the 2023-2024 campaign on Tuesday evening, falling to the Lions of Nassau Community College by a score of 92-58. The contest took place at the Alumni Gymnasium in the Bronx. While Bronx is now 0-3 on the season, the Lions improved their mark to 2-1 on the year.

Despite the loss for the Broncos, freshman standout Daniel Armstrong led the way, as he scored nine points while connecting on four of his seven shots from the floor. He also snatched seven rebounds, as well. Veteran Herbert Gary finalized his evening with nine points, five boards, and a pair of steals. Taijay Good contributed nine points and a pair of assists, and Steven Mejia Perez and Roshard Jean Gilles scored eight points apiece.

Nassau led 43-28 at the half, and gradually built its lead over the final 20 minutes of action, outscoring the hosts 49-30 to account for the convincing 34-point triumph.

The Broncos will look to bounce back on Thursday evening, as Bronx travels to Brooklyn, NY to take on CUNYAC foe Kingsborough Community College. Start-time for that contest is scheduled for 8:00pm.
