Shawnasia Ofaire scores team-high 19 points in Bronx's 72-36 loss at Passaic

The Broncos women's basketball team is still searching for its first victory on the road (0-4), as Bronx fell to the Panthers of Passaic County Community College by a score of 72-36 on Thursday evening. Overall, Bronx is now 2-7 on the 2022-2023 campaign.

Despite the loss for Bronx, Shawnasia Ofaire continued her stellar play, registering team-highs of 19 points and 11 rebounds while also tallying three steals and adding a pair of assists. It marked the sixth time this season that Ofaire has scored 18 points or more. Ciara Shillingford snatched eight rebounds for the Broncos, and Treazure Diggins finalized her evening with five steals.

Passaic was paced by Yasminah White, as she knocked down 10 of her 16 attempts from the floor to finish with a game-high 22 points. She also added eight rebounds and five steals. Nandi Starr Cameron contributed 14 points, and game-highs 12 steals and six assists, and Jade Ramos-Henkel added 14 points, seven steals, and three rebounds. Jasmine Pierce and Paige Neal added 10 points apiece, with Pierce swiping seven steals and snatching seven boards, and Neal grabbing a whopping 12 boards.

The Broncos will return to the court on Tuesday evening, as Bronx will travel to Lower Manhattan to battle the Panthers of Borough of Manhattan Community College in a CUNYAC clash. Start-time is scheduled for 5:30pm.
