Turnovers haunt Broncos in 87-60 loss to Rockland Community College

The Broncos men's basketball team suffered a loss on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Hawks of Rockland Community College by a score of 87-60. With the defeat, Bronx dipped to 0-4 on the 2022-2023 campaign, while Rockland improved to 4-2 on the year.

Despite the loss for Bronx, Taijay Good continued his stellar early-season play, registering game-highs of 17 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. Herbert Gary added 14 points, eight boards, and a pair of assists, and Ludwin Rosa finalized his afternoon with eight points, four rebounds, and two helpers.

In a winning effort for the Hawks, Rockland was led by Kion Hill and Jayden Austin, with each scoring 11 points and grabbing six rebounds. Austin also contributed a team-high three assists and a game-high three steals, and Hill registered two assists. Diamonte McMillan scored 10 points, and Josh Rodriguez added nine.

Rockland converted on 42.5 percent of its attempts from the floor (34-80) while holding the Bronx to 35.7 percent shooting (20-56). The Hawks held a slight 43-40 edge on the glass, while also winning the turnover battle by a wide margin, committing just 10 while forcing 29 for the visitors. The Broncos did register assists on 13 of their 20 baskets, while Rockland finished with 10 assists for the game.

Bronx will return to the court on Tuesday evening, as the Broncos will travel to Garden City, NY to take on Nassau Community College. Start-time for the game is scheduled for 8:00pm.
