Suffolk uses versatile effort to turn back Broncos women's basketball team 61-15 Tuesday evening

The Broncos women's basketball team suffered a home loss on Tuesday evening, falling to the Sharks of Suffolk County Community College by a score of 61-15 at the Alumni Gym. With the loss, Bronx slipped to 0-13 on the 2019-2020 campaign, while the Sharks improved to 4-5.

Despite the loss for Bronx, Jada Parker led the way for the Broncos, as she scored a team-high eight points while also snatching six rebounds. Sophia Ridley snatched a team-high 10 rebounds while also scoring three points and adding a pair of steals, and Kayla Smith contributed eight boards.

In the victory for Suffolk, the Sharks were paced by Lindsey Devine, as she posted game-highs of 17 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and three blocks. She connected on seven of her nine attempts from the floor, and both of her shots from the free throw line. Katie Brown scored 12 points while tallying a game-high five steals, and Tatianna Harris finalized her evening with 10 points, five caroms, and a pair of steals.

The Broncos will return to the court Thursday evening, as Bronx will host CUNYAC foe Kingsborough. Start-time at the Alumni Gym is scheduled for 5:00pm.
