The Broncos men's basketball team suffered a loss on Thursday evening, as Bronx was overwhelmed by the Lions of Nassau Community College by a score of 103-86. The contest took place in Garden City, NY. With the loss, the Broncos fell to a mark of 10-14 on the 2019-2020 campaign, while the Lions won their seventh consecutive game, improving to 16-3.

Despite the loss for Bronx, Tilquan Rucker continued his incredible season, tying for the game-high of 29 points while connecting on 10 of his 26 shots from the floor (4-7 3PT FG). He also tied for the team-high in rebounds with 11, while contributing a game-high nine steals while playing all 40 minutes. Veteran Malik Hamilton surpassed the 900-point mark for his career by scoring 29 points (tied for the game-high) on the evening. He also contributed five rebounds, three assists, and three steals, and Abudrahan Jawara posted a double-double, scoring 13 points and snatching 10 rebounds (all on the offensive side). He also swatted a game-high three shots.

For Nassau, five players scored in double figures, including Patrick Gardner, as he scored 22 points (8-17 FG) to go along with nine rebounds and a pair of blocked shots.  Michael Moreno registered a double-double with 18 points, and a game-high 15 rebounds. Dimitri Ivey contributed 16 points and four caroms, and Kobe Howlett and Sahdique Watskins scored 13 and 11 points, respectively.

The Lions converted on 42.5 percent of their attempts from the floor (37-87), while also converting on 21 of 25 attempts from the charity stripe (84 percent). On the flip side, the Broncos struggled, as Bronx shot just 33.3 percent from the floor, which was a season-low for the team (27-81). Bronx hit on 22 of 32 charity stripe opportunities (68.8 percent). Nassau held a commanding 54-39 edge in the rebounding department, and the Broncos won the turnover battle by a slim margin, committing just 16 miscues while forcing 17 Lions mistakes.

Bronx will now have four days off before returning to the court on Tuesday evening, as the team will play its regular season home finale against Monroe College-Bronx. Start-time at the Alumni Gym is scheduled for 7:00pm. Prior to the contest, the Bronx Community College Department of Athletics will honor the men's basketball team's five sophomores, Tilquan Rucker, Malik Hamilton, Steven Glover, William Paradise, and Abudrahan Jawara, commemorating their two years of dedicated service to the program.
