Broncos now 7-2 in past nine games following 66-61 upset victory over SUNY Orange

The Broncos men's basketball team continued its recent surge, winning for the seventh time in its last nine tries by upsetting the Colts of SUNY Orange by the score of 66-61 Tuesday evening. The contest took place at the Alumni Gym in the Bronx. With the victory, the Broncos evened their record at 9-9 on the 2019-2020 campaign, while SUNY Orange slipped to 11-4.

Malik Hamilton put forth a tremendous effort this evening, scoring 29 points (11-24 FG). He also grabbed three rebounds and registered a pair of assists. Steven Glover recorded his seventh straight contest of six converted field goals or more, as he connected on nine of his 21 attempts from the floor to finish with 21 points. He also contributed a whopping nine assists, while swatting five shots and grabbing four rebounds. Newcomer Doel Rodriguez finalized his evening with seven points and five assists, and Taj Scott and Abudrahan Jawara snatched 11 boards apiece.

The Broncos won the game despite connecting on just 33.8 percent of their attempts from the floor (25-75), and just seven of their 16 shots from the charity stripe (43.8 percent). As a team, Bronx piled 16 assists, while also recorded eight blocked shots.

Bronx will return to action on Thursday evening, as the Broncos will travel to Valhalla, NY to take on Westchester Community College. Start-time for that contest is scheduled for 7:00pm.
