Broncos drop pair of three set matches to Westchester and Rockland on Sunday afternoon

The Broncos women's volleyball team suffered a pair of defeats yesterday, falling to the Vikings of Westchester by scores of 13-25, 20-25, and 15-25, and the Hawks of Rockland by finals of 16-25, 16-25, and 16-25. With the losses, Bronx slipped to 0-9 on the 2019 season.

In Bronx's loss to Westchester, newcomer Alondra Mesa recorded two kills and five digs, and Nayely Rodriguez contributed a kill, three assists, and seven digs. Finally, it was Nossamba Kone adding a kill, an assist, and seven digs.

Against Rockland, Rodriguez led the way with a pair of kills, 21 digs, seven assists, and five service aces. Mesa collected three kills, while also tallying 21 digs and a pair of assists. Kone added two kills and eight digs, and Nicole Santos contributed a pair of kills and five digs.

Bronx will look to get its first victory of the 2019 campaign on Tuesday evening, as the Broncos will host the Wave of Kingsborough C.C. in a CUNYAC match. Start-time for the contest at Alumni Gym is scheduled for 7:00pm.
