Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Broncos stun Fighting Hawks 2-1 in overtime; Barrios nets equalizer, Musah tallies winner

Veteran Shaibu Musah's goal eight minutes into overtime gave the Broncos men's soccer team an impressive comeback victory over the Fighting Hawks on Thursday afternoon. With the triumph, Bronx evened its mark at 2-2 on the 2019 campaign, while Rockland fell to 1-4 with the defeat.

At the 30:00 mark, Rockland's Paul Dibari scored to put the Fighting Hawks ahead by a score of 1-0. Brayan Villarreal assisted on the play. That would turn out to be the lone goal scored by either team in the opening 45 minutes of action.

Late in the second stanza, with Bronx trailing by a goal, newcomer Marcos Barrios would register the equalizer, receiving a beautiful cross pass from Shaibu Musah before drilling the ball into the back of the net (85th minute).

The low-scoring affair would head to overtime, where Musah would net the game-winner (from Ruddy Segura) in the 98th minute to send Bronx to its second victory of 2019.

Broncos goalkeeper Vsevolod Orlov made five saves and allowed just one goal in 105 minutes logged, earning him the victory in net.

Bronx will look to make it two consecutive victories, as the Broncos will host the Express of Monroe-Bronx on Tuesday. The match will take place at Ohio Field, with a start-time of 3:30pm.
