Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Broncos use stellar defensive effort (24 steals, 10 blocks) to defeat Dutchess 79-76 Tuesday evening

The Broncos men's basketball team won for the second time in its past three games, defeating the Falcons of Dutchess Community College by a score of 79-76 Tuesday evening at the Alumni Gym. With the triumph, the Broncos improved to a mark of 3-7 on the 2019-2020 campaign, while the Falcons slipped to a mark of 3-6.

In what was yet another stellar performance, Tilquan Rucker posted a double-double, knocking down 14 of his 22 attempts from the floor to finish with 39 points. He also recorded a whopping 12 steals while snatching eight rebounds and adding three assists. Malik Hamilton once again showed tremendous versatility, as he contributed 18 points, eight boards, four blocks, and four steals, and Steven Glover finalized his evening with 13 points, seven rebounds, and four swatted shots.

Bronx connected on 44.6 percent of its attempts from the floor (29-65), while also showing sensational tenaciousness on defense, registering 24 steals and 10 blocks. The Broncos took care of the ball, as well, committing just 15 turnovers on the night.

The Broncos will now have six days off before returning to the court for a crucial CUNYAC game at BMCC. Start-time for that contest is scheduled for 7:30pm.
