Broncos suffer pair of defeats to Queensborough and Kingsborough on Saturday afternoon

The Broncos women's volleyball team dropped a pair of CUNYAC matches on Saturday afternoon, falling to Queensborough by scores of 9-25, 14-25, and 8-25, and to Kingsborough by finals of 22-25, 16-25, and 7-25. With the losses, Bronx finalized its regular season with a mark of 3-18 overall (0-6 CUNYAC).

In the Broncos loss to the Tigers, Bronx was paced by Nayely Rodriguez, as he registered a pair of kills to go along with six digs. Scarlet Brito and Alondra Mesa recorded seven digs apiece in the defeat.

Nossamba Kone led the way for the Broncos in the team's loss to the Wave, as she compiled three kills to go along with 11 digs. Rodriguez added three kills and eight digs, and Nicole Santos and Mesa contributed two kills apiece.

Bronx will return to action on Monday evening, as the Broncos will compete in the 2019 CUNYAC Community College Women's Volleyball Tournament at the Borough of Manhattan Community College. Bronx will enter the tournament as the No. 4 seed, and will take on the No. 1 seeded Queensborough Tigers. The match begins at 6:00pm, with the winner advancing to the 8:00pm championship match.
