The Broncos' women's basketball team suffered a defeat in its first game of calendar year 2019, falling to the Tigers of Queensborough by a score of 91-37 in a CUNYAC contest played in Bayside, NY. With the defeat, Bronx dipped to a record of 2-8 overall (1-4 CUNYAC), while the Tigers evened their record at 7-5 while catapulting to a mark of 4-1 in conference competition.
Despite the loss for Bronx,
Asia Nelson posted a double-double, scoring 19 points and grabbing 30 rebounds. Veteran
Kayla Martinez netted 12 points while snatching 11 caroms, and
Aissata Kante contributed six points and 16 boards.
The Broncos will return to action on Friday evening, as Bronx will host Bergen Community College at the Alumni Gymnasium. Start-time for the game is scheduled for 5:00pm.
