Balanced efforts leads Bronx to strong 97-84 victory over Rockland on Saturday afternoon

The Broncos' men's basketball team won its second consecutive game on Saturday afternoon, turning back the Hawks of Rockland Community College by a score of 97-84 in a game that took place in Suffern, NY. With the triumph, Bronx improved to a mark of 6-10 on the season, while the Hawks slipped a mark of 2-12.

For Bronx, Tilquan Rucker scored a game-high 32 points, connecting on 12 of his 22 attempts from the floor, and six of his eight shots from the charity stripe. He also led all players in steals with seven, while also tying for the game-high in assists with six. Malik Hamilton hit four shots from beyond the arc to finish with 23 points. He also added four steals, as well. Elijah Lopez also put together a strong effort, nailing eight of his 11 attempts from the floor to finish with 18 points.

John Morina scored a team-high 29 points in a losing effort for Rockland. He also recorded five assists, two steals, and a pair of rebounds. Cameron Vaughn tallied 22 points, five assists, four rebounds, and a steal, and Daniel Torres and Hermes Bautista netted 12 points apiece.

The Broncos will look to make it three consecutive victories when they take to the road to battle Monroe College-Bronx on Tuesday evening. Start-time for that contest is scheduled for 8:00pm.
