Broncos' men's soccer team picked up a victory on Thursday afternoon, defeating the Wave of Kingsborough
Community College by a score of 7-1 in Brooklyn, NY. With the victory, Bronx improved to a mark of 2-3 on the season (1-1 CUNYAC
). The Wave slipped to 0-5 on the 2018 campaign with the loss, including a mark of 0-2 in conference competition.
Bronx first got on the scoreboard at the 10:29 mark when Daniel Njonam scored an unassisted goal to give his team the early 1-0 lead. That would be the lone goal of the contest until 41:21 into the match when Kokou Zonyo found the back of the net (unassisted) to give the Broncos a 2-0 edge. That would be the score as the team's broke for halftime.
In the second half, Bronx' Shaibu Musah would score two goals 43 seconds apart (51:15 and 51:58) to increase the Broncos' lead to a commanding margin of 4-0. Patrick Otoo and Njonam would pick up assists on the aforementioned two goals.
Later - Ransford Worae would score back-to-back unassisted goals at the 64:28 and 72:04 marks to give the Broncos a 6-0 lead. Bronx would eventually go on to the win the game by a score of 7-1.
Bronx out-shot Kingsborough by a margin of 14-5 on the afternoon.
The Broncos will return to action on Tuesday afternoon, as Bronx will host Westchester Community College. The match takes place at Ohio Field, and start-time is scheduled for 3:30pm.
