The Broncos' men's soccer team suffered a tough loss on Thursday afternoon, falling to the Nassau Lions by a score of 1-0 on a rainy and humid day at Ohio Field in the Bronx. Nassau is listed as # 3 in the October 2, 2018 national NJCAA Division III Men's Soccer rankings.
After a scoreless first 45 minutes of actions, Nassau finally broke through for the lone goal of the contest at 52:05 when Jasson Cruz headed in a pass from Johann Renderos.
Bronx netminder
Lamin Mbye did a fantastic job of keeping his team in the game, as he stopped 12 shots on the afternoon despite the loss. His counterpart, the Lions' Scott Gernhardt, made six saves in picking up a shutout.
Nassau out-shot Bronx by a count of 34-13 for the match.
The Broncos will return to action on Monday afternoon, as Bronx will take to the road to battle Suffolk County Community College in Selden, NY. Start-time for the match is scheduled for 2:00pm.
