Diane Onikute

Bronx Community College Athletics announced the appointment of Diane Onikute as its Head Women's Basketball Coach in April of 2018.
 
Onikute brings plenty of experience both as a former student-athlete and coach at various institutions. She previously served as an assistant coach for York College in Queens during the 2015-2016 season. Prior to that, she was an assistant coach at fellow CUNYAC institution CCNY during the 2014-2015 campaign.  
 
She also worked with the New York Lady Gauchos AAU program as an assistant coach from 2014-2016. There, she worked closely local youth players, guiding them and providing leadership and direction on and off the court.
Onikute earned her master's of science degree in health human performance Recreation from Pittsburg (KS) State back in 2012. While earning her degree, she played for the women's basketball team, averaging 10 points and six rebounds per game as a senior.
 
Before Pittsburg State, she played at Division I University of Houston. In her only season, she played in 15 games, earning 11 starts. She averaged seven points and nearly six rebounds per game for the Cougars.

She graduated from New York City's Park West High, where she set the school's single-game record for points, with 50. A Lagos, Nigeria native, she then enrolled and played at Barton County Community College in Great Bend, Kansas, where she led the Lady Cougars to a 50-18 record while earning her associate of arts degree.
